SECADO AL AIRE LIBRE DE LA MADERA DE PINUS
Abstract
El secado al aire libre ha sido un método natural de secado de madera, que es barato desde el punto de vista de una inversión inicial mínima; sin embargo y debido al desarrollo de equipos artificiales de secado, se ha perdido el interés de investigación sobre este punto, a pesar de que se sabe que en ciertas especies de difícil secado, es conveniente alcanzar primero una estabilidad dimensional en condiciones naturales.
El objetivo de este trabajo es conocer y evaluar las condiciones secantes naturales en madera aserrada de Pinus spp, de 2.54 cm, ( 1 ") de grueso, anchos comerciales y 2.51 m (8.25') de longitud, a través del afio, en una región de clima templado-frío, lo que facilitará entre otras cosas, el manejo y la planeación de los secados al aire libre, al poder deducir sus tiempos efectivos; además puede ser utilizado, por todas aquellas personas con necesidad de secar pequefias cantidades de madera o que no cuenten con los recursos para un secado artificial.
