PODA APICAL DE PLANTAS DE Pinus ayacahuite var. veitchii Shaw EN VIVERO.
Keywords:
Silviculture, forest nurseries, apical prunning, pines, Pinus ayacahuiteAbstract
With specimenes of Pinus ayacahuite var. veiichii Shawn on containers, during two years on the forest nursery, were applied apical pnmning treatments on two cut variables (1/3 of the last growth and 1/4 of total height}, also five cut dates (from April, 1992 to February, 1993). A.fter a growing year, the apical prunnings standarized the plants height, that effect was most important with the 1/4 cut. Also a disminution of proportional part aereal/radical (A/R) provoqued that the balance values almost reach 2, without significant differences between the dates and cut types. Ali treatments produced subapical shoots and after three months could be identified the apical dominance on sorne of them, the physiological process became more enfatic during the time after the prunning. One year after the prunning, the plants presented ¡¡ domminant shoot totally identified.
