Abstract

The main objective of this study was to determine the better time of sowing for twelve forest species of the region of Baja California Sur (BCS), Mexico, searching with this information to become more efficient the resources management on forest species plant production. The study was settled down on the Campo Experimental Todos Santos nursery on Baja California Sur state, Mexico, they were carried out sowings for a eight species group every fifteen days since July of 1982 to December of 1983 and for the other four, from August of 1984 to August of 1985. Por the statistical analisis, was used a randomized experimental desing. Por the emergency plant percentages cvaluation and average comparation was applicated the Tukey test (P< 0.01) to each specie. In ali the species there were found highly significant differences between treatments (sowing dates). The most better time of sowing were presented on summer, fati and winter beginings, only in three of the twelve species an adecuate emergency percentage was maintained after two years of seed recollection.
