The Tezozomoc Park is very important in Azcapotzalco county (Mexico City) and its surrounding areas, since it is an ecological reserve where cultural activities take place. lts artificial lake at the center of the park is surrounded by mounds that represent the Valley of Mexico. lt faces several problems, one of which is the effect of the urban areas. lnsect and disease problems are the major vegetation enemies; important factors, too, are vandalism, use of wastewaters tor irrigation, sanitary refills, microclimaté, environmental pollution and plantations with improper species over excessively drained and compacted soils. The edaphological description was made over 23 sites. Sampling was made at different depths and dominant vegetation samples were taken too, all of which were analyzed at the Gas Treatment and Solid-Waste Laboratory of the Miguel Othon de Mendizabal Scientific and Technological Center (CECyT-MOM), where conventional methods were followed. Re-sults showed that the physical and chemical propertires of the soils are similar in all cases, as a response to the kind of refill materials, to the irrigation waters as well as to the environmental pollution; the same factors and effects were observed on vegetation.
