In order to support with current information the conservation and management program for Barranca del Cupatitzio National Park, Michoacan, Mexico, all available biological inventories were updated and veri ed, including macromycetes. To achieve this goal eld work was carried out thus obtaining an up to date species list with data about their presence, distribution and conservation status. Priority species for conservation were identi ed. Fungi were collected weekly during the rainy seasons of 200 and 200 in eight permanent sampling plots. Ten species of Ascomicetes that belong to seven genera and six families were registered as well as 73 species of Basidiomicetes that belong to genera and 27 families. 52 species were ectomycorrhizal fungi, from which 37 are edible, 22 toxic and two endangered. The best represented families were Russulaceae, with two genera and ten species, Tricholomataceae, with six genera and nine species, Amanitaceae, with one genus and eight species, and Boletaceae with three genera and seven species. Russula emetica, R. foetens, R. cyanoxanta, Amanita virosa, Laccaria laccata, Suillus granulatus and S. cothurnatus were the most frequent species.
