Fourwing saltbush or "chamizo" Atriplex canescens (Pursh) Nutt., is a forage chenopod that can be adapted to arid and saline lands, thus offering an attractive solution for grazing lands in Mexico. However, its main limitation is its low percentage of gennination.
An experiment was carried out in order to break seed dormancy, with utricules obtained from ex-lago de Texcoco.
