Abstract

Natural stands in Mexico are subject to a strong disturbance that is rapidly threaten with the disappearance and diminishing of wood resources, forest types and species; Comus disciflora D.C., is a componen! of the mountain cloud forest, considered an endangered species because its timber is thoroughly used by the industry and wood hand crafts; this is why its populations have notably diminished and there have not been any effort for their multiplication. Thus, the objective of the work was to know the highlights about nursery propagation practices for Comus disciflora D.C.; fertigation and substrate fertilization were tested. A 4x2x6 factorial completely randomized experimental design was employed; the A factor was four agricultural fertilizers; the B factor was two frequencies of application; and the C factor, was the nutritive solution amount applied per seedling. The results show that the best indicators in height, dry matter and diameter of the root collar were obtained with 0-46-0 at 3 kg per cubic meter of substrate, alone, or in combination with 46-0-0 at 150 ppm N solution 1 O or 15 mi per month.
