A greenhouse experimental on march 1997, to evaluate five different concentrations of IBA in solution (O, 5000, 10000 and 20,000 ppm) and 10,000 ppm of Brand trade Radix F-10,000.and two levels of soil temperature (heated and unheated) over the rooting of five species from Cupresacea family: Juniperus horizontalis, Cupressus sempervirens, Cupressus macrocarpa, Thuja orienta/is and Chamaecyparis lawsoniana. Results showed that calle>us and roots emission began befare cutlings were 60 days old, and alter 90 days all species showed rooting percentages that ranged from 11.2% ( Thuja orienta/is) to 42.5% (Chamaecyparis lawsoniana). Juniperus horizontalis, Cupresssus sempervirens and Cupressus macrocarpa showed 27.5, 20.1 and 27.3% of rooting, respectively. The statistical analisis (ANOVA) showed significan! effects (ps0.05) for both factors analyzed (IBA concentrations and temperature) over callous and roots emission of cuttings from all species. Optima! IBA solution concentrations to induce callous and roots emission were 10,000 and 20,000 ppm. High soil temperature had negative effect over callous and roots emission in Juniperus horizontalis, Cupressus sempervirens and Cupressus macrocarpa, while positive effects were shown in unheated soil. However, in Thuja orienta/is and Chamaecyparis lawsoniana high temperature showed increments on callous and roots emission. In ali species the callous and roots emission were better obtained over longitudinal injuries of cuttings that were done at the beginning of the assay; the procedure had a great effect over rooting capacity in these coniferous species.
