UNA DÉCADA SEMBRANDO LA SEMILLA DEL CONOCIMIENTO FORESTAL

La Comisión Nacional Forestal (Conafor), organismo público descentralizado del gobierno federal fue creada mediante decreto del 4 de abril del 2001, con la misión de impulsar la protección, la conservación, la restauración y el aprovechamiento de los bosques mexicanos, a través de programas y políticas públicas basados en el modelo de desarrollo forestal sustentable, en corresponsabilidad con los sectores productivo, académico, profesional, así como con la sociedad y su gobierno. Y, aunque, esta perspectiva se ha definido a lo largo del último medio siglo, al promover la transformación de la política forestal, el mandato de la última década de la Conafor ha confirmado la responsabilidad de México hacia el mundo, que a su vez constituye una obligación ética con las futuras generaciones. Coordinar e implementar una política forestal bien diseñada es una encomienda compleja que requiere alcanzar metas y concretar avances, lo cual va de la mano con el desarrollo de un conocimiento profundo de la riqueza forestal.
