Abstract

A first report is filed on the insects which feed themselves from foliage of coniferous species in the central region of Mexico, collected at the states ofMexico and Tlaxcala, which were both identified and recorded. The listing includes 4 orders, 20 genera and 12 species, with a total of 420 specimens. Observed damages are described. The main ones arePande/etius Cal/iatipenis, P. viridiventris and Luperodes spp. in adult state, causing severe damage to regenerating foliage of pine forests and Halisidota alterna/a, causing severe defoliation in pine trees.
