Abstract

Operating, research, technical, and management personnel are working very hard on various fire facets in Mexico.

The main purpose ofthls work is to disclose research on fires occurring from the settlement ofpre Columbian cultures to the 20th. Century (August, 1990).
The significance today on fire research in Mexico is highlighted in over fifty research projects conducted in the Country on various issues related to these events ..
Among other factors, the impossibility to record ali fires and to evaluate their economic impact are strongly highlighted. Ali ofthis because ofinsufficient resources allocated to fires prevention, presuppression and suppression.
