Abstract

The sprouting rate of 21 forest species planted in "San Felipe-Bacalar", Campo Experimental Forestal, (C E F) situated in Quintana Roo state, Mexico, in 1983 is determined in this study.
The efficiency of severa! sprouting rate measures is discussed to differentiate the rate of this phenomenon and it was concluded that 75% of days is the rate best reflecting such differences. Data here are compared to those of other authors.

This type ofwork is recommended to study other species and the mechanisms inhibiting sprouting in slow development species and to determine treatments to stimulate it.
