Abstract

This research was located in the San Felipe-Bacalar Campo Experimental. It consists in four treatments on 31 forest seed species from Bacalar, Quintana Roo, Mexico region.
The first treatment was a 24 hours soaking in a Ringer solution with pancreatine. The second one was a bum of dry material over the seeds. The third one was a mechanical scarification, this consist in a cut on the seed tegument. The last one was the control.
The seeding was planted in a nursery, a daily records was taken to evaluated the germination rate.
The results show that the germination most evaluated by speed index, and also contribute to explain the secondary forest communities dinamics.
