Abstract

This study was made in november of 1989 in Barranca de Cupatitzio Experimental Field, Uruapan Michoacan, Mexico. The Experimental Field surface is 453 Ha and within pine-oak forest. Dominant species are Pinus doglasiana Martínez, P. lawsonii Roezl, P. michoacana Martínez, P. leiophy/Ja Schl. et Cham., Quercus rugosa Trel, Q. obtusa/a Humb y Bonpl. It was sampling 150 trees of different diametric classes (10-60 cm) in two different site productivities and the objective was deternúne the diameter increase and growth space according to the different categories, under different competition levels. It was found a different behavoir between young and mature stands.
