Abstract

Wood's moisture content (M C) determination is essential for the control of the drying process and for its optimum utilization in most of the wood-based products.
A precise method but slow is trough the using drying stove for wood samples and another one faster and easier, but with a marginal error, is with electric meters.
In order to determine the difference between these two methods, the data of different M C of three species are compared:

Pinus oocarpa var. ochoterenai Mtz. Quercus laurina Humb. et Bonpl. A lnus jorullensis H B K.

The data were derived from samples dried under shed at environmental conditions, measuring their M C every otherday, with an electric meter and by the drying stove method through the oven dry weight of sections, from each sampled board.
