SITUACIÓN DEL ARBOLADO DE ALINEACIÓN DE LA CIUDAD DE MÉXICO: DELEGACIONES IZTACALCO E IZTAPALAPA, DISTRITO FEDERAL

Inventories ofurban street trees and shrubs were done in lztacalco an lztapalapa, Distrito Federal, México. A stratified unproportional randomized sarnpling method was applied. There were sampled 13 neighborhoods and 3,190 trees in Iztacalcc, and 22 neighborhoods and 5,436 trees in Iztapalapa. The course sampling was 28.9 and 47.28 Km respectively. Each tree or shrub was taxonomic identified, and sorne quantitative characteristics were evaluated on trees and shrubs, like diameter (DBH) total height, location, available space for plant growth and also some qualitative characteristics like health and physical stem and foliage condition, age class, prune type, and side walks damage. At Iztacalco were identified 68 different trees and shurbs species, and the most frequent species were Fraxinus uhdei (Winzig) Lingel. (16.83%), Ligustrum lucidum Ait. (13.73%), and Cupressus lindleyi Klotzsch. (13.44%). At Iztapalapa there were identified 81 trees and shrubs species, and the most frequent were Ligustrum lucidum Ait. (9. 95%), Cupressus lindleyi Klotzsch. (9.47%), Fraxinus uhdei (Winzig.) Lingel. (8.74%), Jacaranda mimosifolia D. Don (8.43%), and Erythrina coralloides D.C. The average DBH was 13.6 cm at lztacalco, and 11. 5 cm at Iztapalapa, and the average of total height was 3. l O m and 3. 9 m respectively. Both locations have high percentage of trees with good stem and foliage health conditions. The lack of prune was registred in a high percentage of trees, and also a high percentage of trees with no sidewalks damage.
