This year of 2023, the 90^th anniversary of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León and the 40^th anniversary of its Graduate School of Forest Sciences are celebrated. This is a source of pride and especially of an unrestricted commitment to the training of highly qualified students. The Graduate School of Forest Sciences has always been characterized by its academic quality and its teachers, as well as by the solidness of its study programs that have allowed the training of specialists, both undergraduate and postgraduate, in the use and management of forest and natural resources.

These first 40 years of the Graduate School of Forest Sciences are proof of its relevance at the regional, national and international level as a source of knowledge, research and management of natural resources, standing out as one of the centers of academic excellence in the training of engineers foresters, engineers in Natural Resources Management, Master's Degree in Forest Sciences, Master's Degree in Ecological Restoration and Doctorate in Natural Resources Management, all are programs endorsed by several certifying and accrediting bodies.

Undoubtedly, one of the most important assets of our beloved School are its professors, all with postgraduate level, trained in various international and national institutions who actively participate in teaching classes, carry out cutting-edge research in their field of work and develop productive projects in which students from different grades also collaborate; 80 % of the teaching staff belongs to the National System of Researchers (Sistema Nacional de Investigadores or SNI, for its acronym in Spanish), which increases the quality of research and student training.

Our School actively participates for the benefit of society; our teachers are part of different panels of specialists that provide advice and services to government institutions, NGOs, private companies and the general public in the entire field of natural resource management.

Our Faculty is characterized by its extensive participation in academic and research agreements with various national and foreign universities, which complements the academic training of students.

We can proudly say that we have trained more than 500 forest engineers and natural resource management engineers, and more than 250 postgraduates in the field of natural resources, who today carry out their work as specialists for the benefit of our society.
